Sustainability is one of the founding principles of the Malìa project and respect for this value is reflected in every area of the garment creation process right from the choice of raw materials. The textile fibers we use are all of natural origin, with certifications that attest to their low environmental impact at every stage of production, from cultivation/breeding, to finishing and dyeing. (OEKO-TEX, GOTS, GRS, FSC are some of the most important ones that concern our fibres.) Weaving and dyeing are made in Italy by certified producers who control every stage of the production chain, with minimal chemical impact on each process. Once purchased, the fabric arrives in the atelier and from here it only leaves at the end, as a finished product, i.e. as an item of clothing. All the processes, from the design, through the cutting of the fabric, up to the creation of each garment , are carried out directly in the laboratory with artisanal processes, respecting the tailoring deadlines. Each model is handmade on paper and adapted from time to time according to the customer's measurements. Once created, it is placed on the stretched fabric and cut manually with simple scissors. After assembling the pieces, it is finished and completed with the relevant accessories. The materials used to make the garments, such as threads for example, are certified and made by specialized companies with ecological processes. The fundamental characteristic that differentiates us from most sustainable fashion brands is the "made to order" creation. In fact, each item in our collections is created at the time of order upon customer request. This type of entrepreneurial choice allows us to minimize waste, both of textile fiber and of energy, packaging from time to time only the necessary garments ordered by the customer. The precious fabrics recovered from the garment manufacturing phases are screened and reused depending on the size to create something different each time based on the size. Some become accessories such as headbands and hats, others decorations, such as the bows we use for garments or for our exclusive packaging, others finally become samples that we attach to the customer to let him know some of our fabrics. No production phase involves the use of plastic, including packaging made with recycled materials, recycled paper and biodegradable and compostable bioplastics.
